11 Cancer Causing Food You Probably Eat Every Day

While you may be thinking “Everything causes cancer, so why bother,” the 11 products listed here have been scientifically shown to increase the risk of developing cancer. The truth is, there’s no better treatment than prevention. You can take action today, allowing you to protect your future health. Positive health can be overwhelming, but as long as you remain active and follow a balanced, nutrient-rich diet, you will significantly reduce your risk.

1. Canned Tomatoes

While fresh tomatoes are actually considered to be very good for your health and help to prevent cancer, the canned ones are not. Actually, most canned foods can be a concern because of the material the can is made of. The lining of almost all canned foods are made with a chemical called bisphenol-A or BPA. Studies show that BPA affects the way genes work inside the brain. Our advise to you is, avoid cans and cook fresh or buy glass bottles.

2. Soda (Mineral Drinks)

Research shows that people who consume more than one soda per day have a higher risk of stroke than people who don’t drink sodas. These drinks are full of sugar and are an empty source of calories that cause weight gain and are one of the main reasons for developing obesity. Drinking large amounts of soda cause your blood sugar to spike which can result to both inflammation and insulin resistance. These beverages also contain a load of artificial colorings and food chemicals like derivative 4-methlylimidazole (4-MI). No wonder soda pop has been shown to be very bad for your health and cause cancer.

3. Potato Chips

Potato chips are great. They are cheap, great tasting and are the perfect quick snack. However, the negative effects they have on your body may not be worth it. The snack is high in both fat and calories, which will definitely result in weight gain. Additionally, potato chips are full of trans-fats which can cause high cholesterol and they have excessive sodium levels which for many people, cause high blood pressure.

Processed Meats

You might wonder what type of meats are considered to be processed. This is a very long list that includes, sausages, hot dogs, bacon and most lunch meats. Study shows that the excessive amounts of salt and chemicals that are used when making processed meats are extremely damaging to your health and can increase the risk of early death. All these processed meats contain large amounts of chemicals and preservatives, including sodium, which make them, look appealing and fresh even when they are not. We advise you to only eat fresh meats instead of the processed ones.

Alcohol use is the second leading cause of cancer, right behind tobacco. While a moderate or low consumption of alcohol can be healthy and lead to a reduced risk of heart disease, excessive drinking is known to cause heart failure, stroke, and sudden death. In 2007, the World Health Organization International Agency for Research on Cancer studied the scientific evidence regarding cancer and alcohol use from 27 different studies. They found sufficient evidence to state that excessive alcohol use is the main cause of mouth, esophagus, liver, colon, mouth, rectum, and female breast cancers.

Diet Anything

Diet foods, including frozen foods, or prepackaged foods that are labeles as “diet” or “low fat”, including sodas, contain aspartame. This is a chemical, artificial sweetener that we have mentioned before in this list. Many studies show that aspartame causes many diseases and sicknesses such as cancer and heart problems.

Highly processed white flours

You are probably already aware of the fact that white flour is not a good thing, but you most likey don’t really know how bad it actually is for your health. Nowadays, mills don’t longer wait for their flour to whiten with time. but they bleach flour with a chemical called chlorine gas. Chlorine gas is a dangerous irritant that is not supposed to be inhaled and in largue amounts can even be lethal.

Foods that are highly salted, pickled, or smoked

These products typically contain preservatives, such as nitrates which are intend to make them look appealing for as long as possible. The additives used in processed food can pile up in your body over time and eventually damage the cellular levels and lead to cancer. Smoked fods are even worse fo you, when they are cooked in high temperatures, the nitrates are converted to the much more dangerous kind of nitrites.

Hydrogenated Oils

Let’s start by saying that all hydrogenated oils are vegetable oils. Vegetable oils cannot be extracted naturally but have to be chemically removed from their source. To make them look appealing manufacturers frequently add color and scent. All vegetable oils contain high levels of Omega-6 fatty acids. An excess of these acids can cause various health problems, such as heart disease and skin cancer.

So, non - industrial ones are better

Refined Sugars

Refined sugars do not only highly increase your insulin levels but they are also the most prefereable food for cancer cells, therefore promoting their growth. Tumors and cancers both use sugars to “feed” and to increase in size. In order to grown and reproduce, cancer cells seem to prefer feeding on frustoce-rich sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup. Foods like cakes, pies, cookies, sodas, juices, cereals, and many other popular items are loaded with refined sugars so it shoudn’t come as a surprise that you should stay away from them.

Microwave Popcorn

11 Cancer Causing Food You Probably Eat Every Day

I really hate to be the one to tell you this, but even if microwave popcorn is extremly convenient, it can be very dangerous to your health. It is not even only about the popcorn itself but the microwave bags are lined with a chemical called perfluorooctanoic acid , a chemical that is linked to infertility in women. Numerous studies show that exposure to PFOA increases the risk of kidney bladder, liver, pancreas and testicular cancer.

God Ultimately keeps us healthy, but lets do our own part in this project called life.

Swissgarde Supplements For Kids : Do Healthy Kids Need Supplements?

Do Healthy Kids Need Supplements?

Not necessarily so, the experts agree. Ideally, kids should get their vitamins from a balanced, healthy diet that includes:
• Milk and dairy products like cheese and yogurt (preferably low-fat products for kids over age 3)
• Plenty of fresh fruits and leafy, green vegetables
• Protein like chicken, fish, meat, and eggs
• Whole grains like steel-cut oats and brown rice
Which Kids Need Vitamin Supplements?
Given the reality of time-crunched parents, those well-rounded, home-cooked meals aren't always possible. That's why pediatricians may recommend a daily multivitamin or mineral supplement for:
• Kids who aren't eating regular, well-balanced meals made from fresh, whole foods
• Finicky eaters who simply aren't eating enough
• Kids with chronic medical conditions such as asthma or digestive problems, especially if they're taking medications (be sure to talk with your child's doctor first before starting a supplement if your child is on medication)
• Kids eating a lot of fast foods, convenience foods, and processed foods
• Kids on a vegetarian or a vegan diet (they may need an iron supplement), a dairy-free diet (they may need a calcium supplement), or other restricted diet
• Kids who drink a lot of carbonated sodas, which can leach vitamins and minerals from their bodies.

Top Six Vitamins and Minerals for Kids
In the alphabet soup of vitamins and minerals, a few stand out as critical for growing kids.
• Vitamin A promotes normal growth and development; tissue and bone repair; and healthy skin, eyes, and immune responses. Good sources include milk, cheese, eggs, and yellow-to-orange vegetables like carrots, yams, and squash.
• Vitamin B. The family of B vitamins -- B2, B3, B6, and B12 -- aid metabolism, energy production, and healthy circulatory and nervous systems. Good sources include meat, chicken, fish, nuts, eggs, milk, cheese, beans, and soybeans.
• Vitamin C promotes healthy muscles, connective tissue, and skin. Good sources include citrus fruit, strawberries, kiwi, tomatoes, and green vegetables like broccoli.
• Vitamin D promotes bone and tooth formation and helps the body absorb calcium. Good sources include milk and fatty fish like salmon and mackerel. The best source of vitamin D is sunlight.
• Calcium helps build strong bones as a child grows. Good sources include milk, cheese, yogurt, tofu, and calcium-fortified orange juice.
• Iron builds muscle and is essential to healthy red blood cells. Iron deficiency is a risk in adolescence, especially for girls once they begin to menstruate. Good sources include beef and other red meats, turkey, pork, spinach, beans, and prunes.
Megavitamins -- large doses of vitamins -- aren't a good idea for children. The fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E, and K) can be toxic if kids overdose on excessive amounts. Ditto with iron. Your kids can get too much of a good thing.

Look to Fresh Foods for the Best Vitamins
Healthy kids get their best start from what you put in your grocery cart.
Good nutrition starts by serving a wide variety of whole, fresh foods as much as possible. That's far better than serving up fast foods or convenience foods -- and hoping that taking a kids' vitamin will undo any nutritional no-no's. You'll find the most vitamins and minerals in foods high in carbohydrates and proteins (rather than fats). By far, the most high-vitamin foods of all are fresh fruits and vegetables.
To give kids more vitamins, aim for more variety -- not simply more food. Twice as many kids today are overweight than just two decades ago, so use kid-sized food portions, which are one-quarter to one-third the size of adult portions.
Spread the variety of foods into several small meals and snacks throughout the day. If your child won't eat a particular food for a few days -- like vegetables -- don't fret. But reintroduce those foods again a day or two later, perhaps prepared in a different way. Kids' "food strikes" usually end by themselves.
Vitamins and Healthy Kids: Five Tips
If you do give vitamins to your kids, follow these tips:
1. Put vitamins away, well out of reach of children, so they don't treat them like candy.
2. Try not to battle over foods with your kids or use desserts as a bribe to "clean your plate." Instead, give your child a chewable vitamin after the meal. Fat-soluble vitamins can only be absorbed with food.
3. If your child is taking any medication, be sure to ask your child's doctor about any drug interactions with certain vitamins or minerals. Then the supplement won't boost or lower the medication dose.
4. Try a chewable vitamin if your child won't take a pill or liquid supplement.
5. Consider waiting until a child reaches age 4 to start giving a multivitamin supplement, unless your child's doctor suggests otherwise.

Sound nutrition plays a role in your child's learning and development. So, rather than taking chances why not introduce your children to Power Powder, a new product uniquely formulated to provide all the minerals and nutrients for growing children.
